A guide to your boxes and bins

In your green box

 

  • Paper- Newspapers, magazines and telephone directories
  • Glass- Green, brown and clear glass bottles and jars. No broken glass 
  • Cans- Food and drink cans, aerosol cans, aluminium foil
  • Plastic bottles only- Please remove lids, rinse and squash
  • Textiles and clothes- Please put in a plastic bag
  • Shoes- Tie together in pairs
  • Car batteries and household batteries- Please put in a clear plastic bag
  • Engine oil- Please ensure container lid is tightly closed

 

Recycling using the green box is compulsory in Brent

 

Order another or a new green box. You can order as many green boxes as you need for free.

  • Garden waste- Dead flowers, grass cuttings, hedge/branch trimmings, weeds, fallen fruit
  • Food waste- Egg shells, tea bags, coffee grounds, food scraps, bones and peel. Please wrap food in newspaper and then put it in your green organics bin.
  • Cardboard- Boxes, card cereal boxes and card egg boxes
  • Please no plastics, soil or rubble
