Brent Dance Month 2009

July in Brent is all about dance. So what better time to dust off your dancing shoes and boogie, ballet or bop through summer?

Brent Dance Month 2009 will be launched at Brent Respect Festival on Sunday 5 July in the Momentum dance tent from 1pm to 8pm with demonstrations and workshops as tasters of the month long programme.

The launch includes a day burtsing with African, Carribean disco, Hip hop from the 2009 street dance champions, Salsa, Merengue and French social dancing, accompanied by the sounds of accordions, fiddles, hurdy-gurdy and bagpipes.

But it doesn't stop there, throughout the month you can rediscover your inner child during a hoop dance or try out waltz, tango, jazz and even rumba to some funky Bollywood beats.

Brent Dance Month is part of Momentum, a West London dance development project to get residents passionate about dancing, whether they are absolute beginners or seasoned disco divas.
