Recycling in Brent

Update time: 12noon

Torah Temimah Primary and Sinai schools will re-open tomorrow (4 Feb)

Update time: 11am

The refuse, recycling and organic collection services are suspended for today.

The street cleaning service is also suspended today.

The recycling collections at the Bring Banks and Metro Banks outside collections are being emptied where it is safe to do so. The collection crews are also gritting around the banks.

All crews from recycling, refuse and street cleaning that made it into work have been diverted onto gritting.

Gritting priorities are:

  • keeping the main roads open throughout Brent (although clear of snow gritting to continue to keep these roads ice free)
  • clearing compacted snow and ice from pavements in town centres
  • clearing compacted snow and ice from other shopping areas, outside schools and stations
  • prioritising residential roads for gritting and snow/ice clearance (targeting through busy through routes and hilly areas)
  • clearing other residential roads.

We are continually in touch with weather offices so we can make changes to our plans and cover key areas.
