Here at Brent we believe in being ambitious - that means providing the best possible IT service for our users and our residents. It's crucial that they have a single point of contact to solve any problems that may arise, and that's where you come in.

As part of a team on our Service Desk, you'll pick up phone calls, emails and web requests before troubleshooting users' IT problems and resolving them quickly and effectively either there and then, or at their site.

It'll also see you handle routine installations and de-installations of hardware
and software, and carry out tests using supplied test procedures and diagnostic tools.

You'll correct malfunctions, calling on your more experienced colleagues or external resources if need be. In addition, you'll help plan as well as implement maintenance and installation work, and carry out network configuration.

Excellent customer care skills are clearly going to be a must. Your good general IT skills should include a sound knowledge of desktop applications, MS Windows and MS Office applications. Just as importantly, you will be a team player and be willing to take ownership of problems, seeing them through to completion.

The role's structured specifically to give you every chance to develop your skills. As you progress, you'll take on further responsibilities and add to your expertise.

This is an opportunity to be part of a unit that is aiming to be the number one for innovation in local government IT. It's also a great environment in which to learn.

We're constantly introducing new technology, so there will be lots to get to grips with, and great support while you do.
