There is a large programme under way laying the foundation for business transformation. This includes the roll out of IP telephony including Unified Messaging, achieving ISO27001 accreditation, developing a Client Index, implementing MS Exchange 2007 and carrying out a data rationalisation project that includes implementing SharePoint 2007. So, you'll be perfectly placed to add to your skills, knowledge and expertise.
The Data Integration Services Manager is primarily responsible for managing and co-ordinating the ongoing development of the Brent Information Hub. The Brent 'I-Hub' its at the centre of the Brent IT infrastructure and is used to link Brent systems and information together. It allows the re-use and sharing of data to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of Brent business processes. It provides the foundations for all internal inter-system communication and for all citizen to Brent council interactions.
The role manages a small team of analysts who carry out technical support and development of the I-Hub and data integration in general. The team is also responsible for supporting many of the services available to Brent citizens on the Brent web site.
We are looking for someone who is able to fully understand business requirements and communicate clearly with officers at all levels of the Council. You will need to be able to develop information strategies and manage staff effectively in order to achieve targets defined in the IT Strategy.
You will need to have detailed knowledge of Customer Data Integration (CDI) and Master Data Management (MDM), a working knowledge of the Prince2 project management methodology and an understanding of ITIL service management. You will need experience of managing projects and managing a team of technical staff.
